Well, let’s FACE it..short of any procedure that is invasive(botox,cosmetic surgery, etc), there really isnt any magic cream that is going to reverse the aging process, but there are a number of products that will aid in improving the look, feel and texture of your face. I’ve been trying out several of the products out there, and I found “Olay Total Effects Night Firming Cream For Face and Neck” to be one of the best ones around.

I really like this one alot because of the many benefits it has all in one jar. After using it pretty generously for a little over a month(I’ve used about 1/2 the jar so far), I found it worked wonders on improving the look and feel of my skin. It minimized the appearance of fine lines, really hydrated my dry skin, improving on firmness, absorbed deep into my skin, so using it every night, I could still feel the softness the next morning, and left my face feeling very smooth to the touch. I especially felt and saw visable result around my neck and throat area(where I am really starting to get that over 50 look).

It has a nice, very light scent, and here’s the best part… The price here at Amazon is about 1/2 of what I paid when I purchased it along with my groceries at the market(and it was even on sale at the store), so at around twelve dollars here right now, it’s a real bargain.

There are 7 benefits listed on the box, some I mentioned above, others include evening skin tone, minimizes the appearance of pores and reduces the appearance of blotches and age spots. Give this one a try for any of these aging signs.

Don’t expect a miracle. The wrinkles will not vanish, but a nice improvement in the look and feel of your skin, a healthy glow that leaves you feeling just a little better about yourself(and a a great price).

The formula includes a fast absorbing skin strengthener called VitaNiacin(Vit B3, Vit E and Pro-Vit B5),wheat protein and hydrators.

problem:

I’m a 65 yo male that has always had a ruddy complexion. I wore a cervical neck collar for about 6 years, plus losing about 100 pounds about 2 years ago. My neck was an over abundance of loose saggy skin.

I used both the day and night creams. I just wiped it on w/o paying much attention to how I did it.

RESULT after 1 month:

Nearly all that saggy neck skin tightened. It unbelievable.

I’ve used it for 2 weeks and see noticable improvements to my face, particularly around the eyes. I work with my hands have been less than gentle with them. Since using this product on my hands, my husband has commented on how soft my hands have been, and again, I can see and feel a positive difference. I bought a bottle for every woman in my family.

Years ago I was a sales rep for cosmetical ingredients. Meaning that I worked with major companies to bid on what was in their products to sell them and learned many things about them. I worked for no cosmetic company but sold the ingredients they needed to them from a broker who supplied them in large quantities.

Some things are fairly interesting…like the companies who put an inert and non-working ingredient into their products that tingle because we equate “tingling” with doing something. Or those who use cheaper ingredients that are mostly fillers. Or water as the first and primary ingredient. I learned much.

At that time I was always impressed with Olay as a company because, not only did they always seem to purchase quality ingredients and not use fillers as their main ingredients, but their cosmetic scientists seemed to always put whatever was the newest research into the products before others did and at a better price.

As a consumer, I just turned 43. That changes everything, doesn’t it? Unfortunately! The changes…are…in my facial lines. And that makes what I put on my face even more important. Because I still read up on what’s out there in the market even though I no longer work in that field, I already knew the original Regenerist and the Olay ProX actually did show better results in not only their own tests but many independant ones as well…even ones on the Today show that showed the changes in facial lines measured and photographed for a few weeks on the more expensive lotions and Olay. Google it for info. I’m sure it’s all still floating around on the ‘net.

I don’t remember all lotions it was up against but I do know it beat out La Prarie’s 0 moisturizer because we worked with them.

Okay, so knowing all that, I was using the regular Regenerist and the ProX occasionally and actually had not heard a peep about this cream anywhere at all so to be able to personally try it out was like Christmas in June for me.

I wanted to use it about a month before I gave a full report, which is what I have done.

Here’s the fun part: I only used it on half my face. I mean, how else could I know for sure if any changes or breakouts were the fault of Olay or coincidence, right?

So here’s my report, and trust me, much as I love Olay’s products of the past, I am totally unbiased and if I hated it I’d say I hated it.

1. sensitivity: I have VERY sensitive skin. I actually refuse antibiotics because they make my face break out like I’m having a second puberty. It seems close to everything makes my face break out. Although Olay hadn’t caused breakouts in the past for me which is another reason I always trusted it, I worried that the sunscreen addition would because I can’t wear sunscreens on my face because of that. I can’t say my face was flawless during the whole time because I did get a pimple on my cheek while testing this but during a month that is pretty normal for me to have one. I had no other breakouts or bumps at all so I’d say that’s actually BETTER than normal with the sensitivity of my skin

2. sunblock: this is, I know, imperative at my age. However most other moisturizers have minimal sunscreen protection. An spf of 25 is very unusual and, considering I spent a whole day in the 103 degree Texas sun over the 4th of July and my face was totally protected…wow, it works!

3. moisturizing: I didn’t measure the lines on my face. I didn’t have time to be that scientific…but I can tell you right now I’m switching to this cream. There is a noticeable difference in my opinion of just looking at my right side vs left in improvement. Now that’s not scientific measurement but it’s enough for me to be a believer

4. consistency: It is thicker than other creams but that’s because of the sunscreen and it means it not only stays on but isn’t watered down with water and/or glycerin. I liked it.

5. Scent: In all honesty, some other Olay creams were too perfumed for me. I know some other reviewers said this had a smell but I detected none…it seemed to have no added perfume at all in mine. I guess you need to smell for yourself. I thought it unscented. ??

6. Packaging: Because it comes in a pump, you do not contaminate your lotion with bacteria from your hands. Olay has some other products that are not in pumps and I always prefer the pump personally because of this. Far better for your face.

Because of the past studies on Olay and the ingredients they use, I actually used Olay products even when I could get the ones that cost hundreds of dollars more free since I worked in the industry and samples were handed out every day.

Now that I have to pay for my cosmetics and lotions I take the knowledge I gained when buying any kind of acne treatment, moisturizer etc and make my choices on that even more than price.

With the price of this, it’s a steal…but I happen to think the ingredients in the ProX are a step up so I am going to alternate both lotions to save on money but gain the benefit of both.

I don’t like to leave a review without some negative as nothing is perfect…so that’s the only thing I can think of since this was a real winner in my book…ProX still is still a step up for me, but the price is too…so I’d say for moisturizing, sun protection, cell repair…this really has all most would need. If you want the benefit of both without the price of ProX then maybe alternating would be workable.

I will continue to use the product and should I see any breakouts or changes, I’ll report back…but for me, I’d give it 10 stars if I could!

I’ve been looking for a new facial lotion, and had the opportunity to try the Olay Regenerist, advanced anti-aging via the Vine program. I’m a very fair skinned woman (get more so each year I spend in Seattle) in my mid-30s, and starting to become more concerned about aging as well as balancing that with good environmental/health choices. Since makeup is not well regulated in the US, I like to do some research on the chemicals and their potential health effects.

First, aesthetically, the lotion is white and pretty thick – very similar to a sunscreen. I did not notice on the box or as part of the description that it was a CREAM, and it definitely fits the bill. It’s easy to get good coverage over your face because of this; some facial mosturizers/sunscreen are very watery. The fragrance is the typical Olay smell, but is a lot more potent, in my opinion. I’d applied the lotion, then my makeup and had breakfast. My husband was about 5 feet away and he asked me if I could identify that strange smell. It was the Olay.

Homosalate, the main ingredient, does bioaccumulate and is on a watch list for Japan and Canada. All of the main ingredients are categorized as medium hazard by the Environmental Working Group’s Cosmetic database. The product was not listed in the database, so I looked up individual ingredients to decide if this was a product that I’d consider continuing to use. It contains BHT, which is a chemical I’ve been trying to avoid.

I also found it a bit ridiculous that the side of the box says “Children under six months of age: consult a doctor.” Would people really use this (and anti-aging product) on their kids?! On the plus side, the package was easy open, and the plastic is recyclable.

The SPF is 25, which means that for me, if I were spending a day in the sun, I’d either have to take this with me, or reapply something else. It wouldn’t be sufficient to keep me from getting burned. It’s also not clear *WHICH* UV rays it blocks: UVA, UVB, or both.

Other than that, my skin did feel hydrated when I had applied it. I experienced a small breakout as my skin got used to the heaviness of the cream, but my skin adjusted.

Overall, I think the product is fine and would work for many people. Given the strength of the fragrance, the SPF 25, the BHT, and wanting a product that blocks both UVA and UVB, I probably will not be purchasing this cream for myself.

Swisa is a product that uses dead sea salts and minerals. Cleopatra used the dead sea as her own beauty spa. This company’s products are awesome and you will notice positive effects within the first few days. What is even nicer, is that a little goes a long way, so the product will last you a while. I highly recommend buying Swisa and Premier products from Amazon becuase you’ll get them for half the price of buying them at your local mall kiosk.

When I used this product I immediately noticed smoother skin — smoother than when I use my traditional moisturizer. But I didn’t like that it came in a metal tube; I would have preferred plastic. I have been using this for about a year now and it is the best. My face is so soft and smooth and fine lines are not noticeable. I dont have problem skin so I am fortunate but I do have sensitive skin and it has been gentle to my face. I love this and I have been using a face cream for over 30 years and I think this is the best i have used to date. I was a Neutrogena user as well as Oil of olay and this is still the best one for me. I would recommend this product.

Between the Olay Regenerist, Total Effects, and Definity product lines, it took me a long time figure out which Olay product would best meet my skin care needs. I selected the Definity line because it does not contain Retinol but is still suppose to provide “corrective” effects that even skin tone. I’ve been using the Definity Correcting Protective Lotion and Intense Hydrating Cream for two weeks and I do notice that my skin is smoother. The rough, ruddy patches on my cheeks are beginning to fade. I haven’t noticed any difference on a dark age spot near my jaw but I’m hoping that will even out with continued use. Surface skin regenerates every 28 days and Olay recommends 8 weeks of steady use to see the full effects of the product.

I find the product has a light, feminine floral scent which I enjoy. I tend to be sensitive to strong odors, so typically don’t wear perfume. Personally, I don’t find the scent of the Definity products to be overwhelming. Nowhere on the packaging does the company claim the product is scent-free. If you tend to be sensitive to scented cosmetics, take advantage of the Olay company’s free product sample offer on their Web site.

Even though Olay is considered a “drug store brand,” I find spending -plus on a jar of skin cream expensive. That’s why I researched the product and its ingredients and even took advantage of contacting online beauty consultants before making my final decision. Like all things, unless you’ve got money to burn, it’s best to do a little research to see if a product will be right for you before buying.

I have been using this product for the past 4-5 months now. And I must say that Olay has finally done it! Almost all of my facial acne and other marks have disappeared, and age spots also have gone. Leaving my face radiant and shiny skin. My cheeks used to be very red like rosacea, and that is gone too. All in all, it has proved to be THE face care product I have been looking for all my life. My skin is very oily and acne prone. But now it is also showing improvement and the acne marks from a few pimples every month are cleared by it. It is lightweight and lightly fragranced.Well and good for oily skin as well as dry or normal skin. I give it two thumbs up.

I bought this beautiful skin care product from Sams. I totally love it.it smells heavenly . It smells so natural and my skin just loves it. I have small marks on my hands. But after applying this cream they slowly started to fade . My skin is looking bright now. This is so creamy , a little goes a long way. So a bottle should last atleast 5 months. This is a very emollient type cream, feels like lanolin, has the consistency of a thick whipped cream, and is perfect for dry, chapped or cracked skin. Used on hands or feet, it soaks in and leaves you nice and soft. I have noticed that you only need a small amount and the jar is generous and lasts a long time. It doesn’t seem too oily or greasy to me, and does not have a heavy petroleum jelly type feel. Actually pleasant to use, the scent is pleasant also and fades fairly quickly. Perfect to use in the winter at bedtime. Highly recommended.

I bought this product from “Best in Market” (NOT) and after a normal patch test applied it to my face as suggested. Within hours my face was iching and burning and I was frantically trying to wash the stuff off. Despite washing it off immediatly my face continued to get worse and worse and by the morning I looked like a characature with a deformed face. My eyes were nearly swelled shut, and yet the fine lines had turned into deep craters between the swellings. My whole face still itched and burned and was red and looked like I had been beaten to a pulp. I called the doctor, and on their recommendation used Benedryl cream and tablets, which made it tolerable at best. My face took a WEEK to return to nearly normal. I had dry scaly skin where it had swelled worst for longer, and honestly I think my fine lines are now much more pronounced looking – as if the last bit of elasticity of my skin was destroyed by my reaction to this product.

What is worse to me is that “Best in Market” has refused to respond to my queries about returning the product. I have e-mailed them several times and gotten no response. If I had bought the product directly from Prevera they at least would have refunded my money (I e-mailed to inquire). Do NOT buy from “Best in Market”. And patch test this product for a Minimum of 48 hours (I did again inside my elbow, and found the patch test only itched a little nearly 3 days after applying the product). I am now terrified to use anything since my skin seems to have become ultra sensitised and I am disgusted with “Best in Market” and will NEVER purchase from them again, and will even be wary of purchasing from Companys with Amazon since there is no real recourse of action when you go through Amazon.

Within the first 2 weeks of using PREVERA I could see quite a difference in the texture of the skin on my face and neck! The lines on my forehead are almost completely gone.My eyes look wide open and brighter. My skin is much tighter and the color is even. I have used Botox, and creams that cost over 0. PREVERA works much better and only costs about .00! The best compliments have been from my kids. They did not know that I was using anything different on my face. Two of my teenage girls told me how my face looked so smooth and pretty! My girls can be brutally honest with me….so I know that what they said was true!!! My husband likes the way I look also!! I will keep on using PREVERA,the more you use it..the better the results! HIGHLY RECOMMENED

Swisa is a product that uses dead sea salts and minerals. Cleopatra used the dead sea as her own beauty spa. This company’s products are awesome and you will notice positive effects within the first few days. What is even nicer, is that a little goes a long way, so the product will last you a while. I highly recommend buying Swisa and Premier products from Amazon becuase you’ll get them for half the price of buying them at your local mall kiosk.

When I used this product I immediately noticed smoother skin — smoother than when I use my traditional moisturizer. But I didn’t like that it came in a metal tube; I would have preferred plastic. I have been using this for about a year now and it is the best. My face is so soft and smooth and fine lines are not noticeable. I dont have problem skin so I am fortunate but I do have sensitive skin and it has been gentle to my face. I love this and I have been using a face cream for over 30 years and I think this is the best i have used to date. I was a Neutrogena user as well as Oil of olay and this is still the best one for me. I would recommend this product.

Between the Olay Regenerist, Total Effects, and Definity product lines, it took me a long time figure out which Olay product would best meet my skin care needs. I selected the Definity line because it does not contain Retinol but is still suppose to provide “corrective” effects that even skin tone. I’ve been using the Definity Correcting Protective Lotion and Intense Hydrating Cream for two weeks and I do notice that my skin is smoother. The rough, ruddy patches on my cheeks are beginning to fade. I haven’t noticed any difference on a dark age spot near my jaw but I’m hoping that will even out with continued use. Surface skin regenerates every 28 days and Olay recommends 8 weeks of steady use to see the full effects of the product.

I find the product has a light, feminine floral scent which I enjoy. I tend to be sensitive to strong odors, so typically don’t wear perfume. Personally, I don’t find the scent of the Definity products to be overwhelming. Nowhere on the packaging does the company claim the product is scent-free. If you tend to be sensitive to scented cosmetics, take advantage of the Olay company’s free product sample offer on their Web site.

Even though Olay is considered a “drug store brand,” I find spending -plus on a jar of skin cream expensive. That’s why I researched the product and its ingredients and even took advantage of contacting online beauty consultants before making my final decision. Like all things, unless you’ve got money to burn, it’s best to do a little research to see if a product will be right for you before buying.

I have been using this product for the past 4-5 months now. And I must say that Olay has finally done it! Almost all of my facial acne and other marks have disappeared, and age spots also have gone. Leaving my face radiant and shiny skin. My cheeks used to be very red like rosacea, and that is gone too. All in all, it has proved to be THE face care product I have been looking for all my life. My skin is very oily and acne prone. But now it is also showing improvement and the acne marks from a few pimples every month are cleared by it. It is lightweight and lightly fragranced.Well and good for oily skin as well as dry or normal skin. I give it two thumbs up.

I bought this beautiful skin care product from Sams. I totally love it.it smells heavenly . It smells so natural and my skin just loves it. I have small marks on my hands. But after applying this cream they slowly started to fade . My skin is looking bright now. This is so creamy , a little goes a long way. So a bottle should last atleast 5 months. This is a very emollient type cream, feels like lanolin, has the consistency of a thick whipped cream, and is perfect for dry, chapped or cracked skin. Used on hands or feet, it soaks in and leaves you nice and soft. I have noticed that you only need a small amount and the jar is generous and lasts a long time. It doesn’t seem too oily or greasy to me, and does not have a heavy petroleum jelly type feel. Actually pleasant to use, the scent is pleasant also and fades fairly quickly. Perfect to use in the winter at bedtime. Highly recommended.

I bought this product from “Best in Market” (NOT) and after a normal patch test applied it to my face as suggested. Within hours my face was iching and burning and I was frantically trying to wash the stuff off. Despite washing it off immediatly my face continued to get worse and worse and by the morning I looked like a characature with a deformed face. My eyes were nearly swelled shut, and yet the fine lines had turned into deep craters between the swellings. My whole face still itched and burned and was red and looked like I had been beaten to a pulp. I called the doctor, and on their recommendation used Benedryl cream and tablets, which made it tolerable at best. My face took a WEEK to return to nearly normal. I had dry scaly skin where it had swelled worst for longer, and honestly I think my fine lines are now much more pronounced looking – as if the last bit of elasticity of my skin was destroyed by my reaction to this product.

What is worse to me is that “Best in Market” has refused to respond to my queries about returning the product. I have e-mailed them several times and gotten no response. If I had bought the product directly from Prevera they at least would have refunded my money (I e-mailed to inquire). Do NOT buy from “Best in Market”. And patch test this product for a Minimum of 48 hours (I did again inside my elbow, and found the patch test only itched a little nearly 3 days after applying the product). I am now terrified to use anything since my skin seems to have become ultra sensitised and I am disgusted with “Best in Market” and will NEVER purchase from them again, and will even be wary of purchasing from Companys with Amazon since there is no real recourse of action when you go through Amazon.

Within the first 2 weeks of using PREVERA I could see quite a difference in the texture of the skin on my face and neck! The lines on my forehead are almost completely gone.My eyes look wide open and brighter. My skin is much tighter and the color is even. I have used Botox, and creams that cost over 0. PREVERA works much better and only costs about .00! The best compliments have been from my kids. They did not know that I was using anything different on my face. Two of my teenage girls told me how my face looked so smooth and pretty! My girls can be brutally honest with me….so I know that what they said was true!!! My husband likes the way I look also!! I will keep on using PREVERA,the more you use it..the better the results! HIGHLY RECOMMENED
